Trail Blazers owner Allen dies at 65

SEATTLE (AP) Paul G. Allen, who co-founded Microsoft with his childhood friend Bill Gates before becoming a billionaire philanthropist who invested in conservation, space travel, arts and culture and professional sports, died Monday. He was 65.

He died in Seattle from complications of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, his company Vulcan Inc. announced.

Gates said he was heartbroken about the loss of one of his "oldest and dearest friends."

Pacers extend Turner for 4 years, $72M

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indiana Pacers have signed 22-year-old Myles Turner to a contract extension.

Team officials made the announcement Monday but declined to provide details of the deal. It is a four-year deal worth $72 million, espn.com reported.

The Clippers subsequently waived Ajinca on Monday.

Bucks acquire G Meeks from Wizards

MILWAUKEE (AP) The Milwaukee Bucks have acquired suspended guard Jodie Meeks, a future second-round draft pick and cash from the Wizards, sending a future second-round pick back to Washington.

The NBA suspended Meeks in April for 25 games for a violation of the league's drug program. He has 19 games left on the suspension.

Hawks pick up options on Prince, Collins

ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Hawks have exercised their 2019-20 contract options on DeAndre' Bembry, Taurean Prince and John Collins.

Bembry, the No. 21 pick by the Hawks in the 2016 draft, has averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in his first two games. He made three starts last season while averaging 5.2 points.

DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Pistons have exercised their two-way player conversion option on guard Zach Lofton.

Detroit also announced Monday that it has waived guard Reggie Hearn.

Butler again practices with Wolves

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Jimmy Butler is still suiting up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, with the opener three days away.

Despite his preference to play elsewhere, signs have begun to point to him staying with the Timberwolves at least to start the season. Butler took part in practice on Sunday, the second time he has done so since training camp began with his trade request as the focal point of the team.

Knicks cut Noah with $37.8M left on deal

NEW YORK (AP) Joakim Noah's disappointing Knicks career is over after just two seasons.

Unable to find a trade, the Knicks waived the 33-year-old center Saturday with two years and $37.8 million remaining on his contract.
