James, Curry to pick All-Star Game teams

NEW YORK (AP) Team LeBron against Team Stephen is the NBA's new All-Star matchup.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry will go head-to-head again, this time as captains who pick teams for the revamped NBA All-Star Game.

James and Curry received the most votes from fans in their conferences Thursday night and will draft from a pool of the rest of the NBA's best for the Feb. 18 game in Los Angeles.

Embiid scores 26 as Sixers beat Celtics

BOSTON (AP) Joel Embiid is headed to the NBA All-Star game for the first time, and he celebrated with another impressive performance.

Embiid scored 26 points and matched a career best with 16 rebounds, leading the 76ers to an 89-80 win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.

Magic's Afflalo suspended 2 for fighting

NEW YORK (AP) Orlando's Aaron Afflalo has been suspended two games without pay by the NBA for fighting with Minnesota's Nemanja Bjelica.

Afflalo punched Bjelica in the head in the fight that took place with 7:28 left in the second quarter of the Magic's 108-102 victory on Tuesday.

Bulls' Dunn enters concussion protocol

CHICAGO (AP) Chicago Bulls guard Kris Dunn is out indefinitely after being placed into the NBA's concussion protocol following a fall during a game that ended up with him dislocating two front teeth.

The Bulls said Thursday that Dunn's two teeth have been splinted with braces. He was re-evaluated for concussion symptom and will not travel with the team to Atlanta for Saturday's game.

Rockets' Green, Ariza suspended 2 games

Trevor Ariza said nothing happened. The NBA strongly disagreed.

Ariza and Gerald Green will both be suspended for Houston's next two games, with the NBA coming down hard on both Wednesday for what the league said was their "hostile, verbal altercation" with several players in the Los Angeles Clippers' locker room earlier this week.

Spurs F Leonard sidelined indefinitely

NEW YORK (AP) Kawhi Leonard is headed back to the sidelines, and he'll stay there until his leg is ready.

The San Antonio Spurs decided to shut their All-Star forward down Wednesday, saying Leonard would be out indefinitely as he continues his recovery from injury.

Hornets rip Wizards in Clifford's return

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Nic Batum said it felt like old times having coach Steve Clifford back on the bench Wednesday night.

"Even when we were up 25 points, he was still screaming at us, still wasn't happy," Batum said with a laugh. "He wasn't happy after the game either. I missed him a lot. It's cool to have him back."

Clippers hold off Nuggets, push run to 6

LOS ANGELES (AP) Credit the Goon Squad with a big assist.

The Clippers' bench narrowed a 10-point deficit to one heading into the fourth quarter, and Los Angeles hung on for a 109-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
